Mahmoud Alhussainy, MD is a graduate of Mansoura University, reputable highly ranked university in Egypt. Where he attended his post graduate studies and received his MSc & MD degrees.

Clinical expertise:
- Dr. Alhussainy has been practicing in respiratory unit, MKH-MOH. His practice focuses on interstitial lung diseases, and lung transplant fields. He is Member of ILD committee-MKH.
- He has a special clinical interest in ILDs. His areas of expertise include idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), hypersensitivity pneumonitis and sarcoidosis. He also manages pulmonary fibrosis and lung disease associated with systemic conditions such as Rheumatoid arthritis, and Scleroderma. Dr. Alhussainy is also interested in the field of pulmonary vascular diseases, that was the point of focus in his MSc and MD studies. He is also running the Lung Transplant clinic at Mubarak Al Kabeer Hospital that serves lung transplanted patients across Kuwait.

Professional activities:
- He was honored to be an international speaker in the chest world congress 2016, American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP). He is also an honored speaker in many international and local conferences and meetings.
- He currently has international and local publications, very rare case report publication in international Chest Journal.
- He also has published an international educational case model on the official E-Learning site of ERS (European Respiratory Society), CME awarded.
- He is also the main author of medical book published on LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing, ISBN: 978-3-659-83123-2.
- He received many international journals manuscript review before publications based on his area of expertise.
