Rheumatology unit in Sabah hospital is a great exposure for the medical
residents due to variety of cases, sub-speciality clinics and the exposure to
complexity of cases in Sabah area (e.g. Maternity hospital, Iben Sena, Albahar,
Alrazi.etc.) through consultation which they will not find it in any other hospital.

The resident will join an expert rheumatologist to a general and sub-speciality
clinics, through the clinic he will be exposed to ambulatory patient care
experience, quick assessment skills, most important disease activity tools,
medication prescription (DMARDs, Biologics therapy), procedures.
We will provide the resident a special clinic on Thursday with new referral to
be evaluated first by the resident then the Rheumatologist will join him for
discussion the approach, assessment and management.

Infusion Rooms, a good opportunity for IV biologics therapy/ protocol infusion experience, assess rheumatology patients in infusion rooms.

There will be regular teaching sessions: clinical examination, Hot Rheumatology topics, MCQs discussion, MOCK).

Rheumatology weekly Grand Round, to discuss the cases in the consultation, challenging cases in OPDs, new biologic or medications FDA approved.
The resident will present his cases from the consultation service. The resident will be asked to present a rheumatology topic presentation or an interesting case or article review.
