Dr. Ahmad Alhashemi is an Assistant Professor at Kuwait University and a Consultant in Internal Medicine, Endocrine, and Diabetes at Adan Hospital in Kuwait. He is the Program Director of the Kuwaiti Board of Internal Medicine, Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialization and is Assistant Director at the Center of Medical Education, Kuwait University.

Dr. Alhashemi received his medical degree from Kuwait University then his postgraduate training at the University of Toronto where he completed his Internal Medicine and Endocrine and Metabolism residencies followed by two Clinical Fellowships in the Thyroid and the Pituitary. He holds a Masters Degree in Community Health with a Specialization in Health Teacher Practitioner Education from the University of Toronto as well as a Masters Degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

He has given hundreds of lectures, published several papers in high ranking journals, and participated in the development of many web and mobile applications. His research interests include type 1 diabetes technology, assessment in medical education, and the use of technology in healthcare and medical education.
